The Map of the Mind:
Retreat and Teachings on the Three Visions

Essential information

In this retreat we will explore the teaching of The Three Visions, one of the fundamental texts of the Sakya tradition, which offers a detailed cartography of the Buddhist path through three levels of vision: the impure vision, the vision of experience, and the pure vision. Through meditation, contemplation and study, we will investigate how these levels of perception transform our way of relating to reality and can open us up to deeper and more liberating understanding.

About the event

We will begin by examining impure vision, the habitual way in which we experience the world: through attachment, aversion and ignorance. We will observe how afflictive emotions and distorted projections affect our perception, generating dissatisfaction and suffering. Then, we will explore the vision of experience, where a meditator begins to see reality with greater clarity, recognizing the interdependence of phenomena and the illusory nature of appearances. Finally, we will delve into pure vision, in which reality is perceived without ego distortions and manifests its natural fullness, allowing us to connect with an experience of openness, clarity and compassion. Through teachings, meditation and contemplation, this retreat invites us to recognize our own way of seeing the world and to cultivate a more lucid and liberating vision of existence.
